Nice.For a tiny 2-ounce flashlight, the Inova X1 is amazing and just about perfect. It's an ideal just-in-case flashlight for backpack/purse/travel -- when tiny rules. The MagLite 2-AA is about 25% brighter, throws a slightly more concentrated beam, and costs a few dollars less. So, for the glove box of your car, or anyplace you don't mind the bulk, the MagLite LED (2-AA) is probably better. Most sub-$20 LED flashlights do not throw a concentrated beam nearly as well as these two models. Either will light up a reflective street sign really well... I was actually looking to purchase the last X1 with 25 lumens when I found this updated INOVA X1. I think this was just released in June of this year (2011). I have only had it for a few days now and it is in my pocket every time I leave the house. To be honest I even have it in my pocket at home most of the time and even now as I write this review. The beam is more of a spot to flood type with a very nice hot spot and a perfect round well lit spill area. It is shocking to say the least at how good the 55 lumens looks coming from this little light at this price. The low 6 lumen mode is also just perfect and INOVA claims it wll run for 40 hours in low mode. Remember it only takes a single AA battery. So lets say INOVA is way off and it only runs for 30 hours in low mode, it is still awesome. I have many lights and I collect them, I have others that do as well and better, but not at this size for this price. I... Read more 4 of 4 people found the following review helpful  A good handly yet powerful light, By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Inova X1DM-HB Dual High/Low Mode Flashlight with White LED and 1 AA Battery, Black (Tools & Home Improvement) This is my second Inova AA light, the first being the type with a single intensity, and the second being this one, a dual intensity model. The light uses a single AA battery and, due to internal electronic circuitry, delivers either a strong or dim light, depending on the number of twists of the handle. It also has a momentary on button in the back you can press.I rate the dual mode unit one star lower because twisting the handle on my unit seemed intermittent, but after some fiddling, the unit always lit. (It could just be my particular light.) Additionally, both units were perfectly round, and thus will roll off somewhere and get lost. I like the lights as they have a low earth footprint. The battery, a AA, is said to last 40 hours in low power mode, so I don't have to keep buying expensive 'D' or 'C' batteries.
