Nice knife. Sharp blade but hard to sharpen due to serrations. A bit heavy but solid. Ka-Bar has a great history, but now that includes marking their knives "Made in China"

I recently ordered the Kabar Hawkbill tanto. I had a kabar warthog tanto but lost it and wanted another knife to keep in my pocket daily. I had alot of luck with the previous kabar so i went back to the brand. This was by far the coolest looking knife i had seen while searching. It was the right size had a great shape and was very slim. I had read a number of reviews stating that the thumb hole release to flip the blade open had a flaw. It truly is a little annoying to open the knife. The finger gaurd had a point that drags against your thumb nail while opening. Other that that its a wonderful knife, great size, very sharp, and i have never had so many compliments on a knifes looks. Its a great knife if you dont mind the flaw.

this knife is absolutely bomb-proof; hands down. i've used it for all kinds of things it wasn't desinged for from diging concrete chunks out of the ground to prying dead bolt assemblies out of my front door.
every time i think, "you know...i'm not sure if the kabar can handle this..." the knife looks at me and laughs.
if you're looking for a workhorse of a folding knife, THIS IS IT. only bad thing about it, though--it's a total pain to keep sharp. the shape of the blade and the serrations make it near impossible to sharpen.
