4.0 out of 5 stars Good for backpacking, May 21, 2009
By
I have the 8 liter sack and use it for backpacking. It's very lightweight especially compared to dry sacks meant for water sports kayaking and boating; the trade off is probably some durability as it's quite thin. It has kept anything I've put in it dry; though mine has only seen rain and never gone for a swim. The "EVAC" feature seems a bit pointless to me. I also have sea to summits basic 13L 'lightweight' sack and I can compress it almost as easily and as well by squeezing all the air out before rolling down the top. For this reason I only give this one 4 stars, since it doesn't seem like a significant improvement over the cheaper dry sack.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for inside other packs, cycling, or sea kayaking, August 28, 2011

I have several of these in 13L & 20L. These are great for backpacking, cycling, or sea kayaking. Unlike coated and rubberized sacks these are very light weight, flexible, and easily compress into other bags or packs. I would not purchase if looking for something to throw loose into the bottom of a boat or canoe etc... They simply are not durable or waterproof enough for that type of use.

5.0 out of 5 stars These are AWESOME!, October 1, 2010

I originally got the 3L bag to stuff a light weight down coat into. Now I'm in a climate that is warm and rainy. I have a 3L one for electronics and just ordered two more, one for ten pairs of running socks and one for ten pairs of boxers. I use an XS compression sack for a sleeping bag and pillow, 6L for ten pairs of running shorts, and 4L for ten pairs of boot socks. I live out of a five-day pack, and I have seven Sea to Summit stuff or compression sacks and a Sea to Summit toiletry kit. All of their products are top quality. Most importantly they are designed to compression and keep gear dry. I have a lot of gear that came with a stuff sacks from the factory, but they're generally cheap and ineffective in comparison to Sea to Summit. I highly recommend these and will continue to buy these as my loadouts change.
